BloggerFS

Last night I was playing around with FUSE, FUSE-J and Blogger Data API. The result is a new FUSE-based filesystem, which is named BloggerFS.

The idea is very simple, by using BloggerFS one can manipulate posts on her blog as if they were files. The user just need to pass a mounting point, a blog address (it needs to be on Blogger) and a pair username/password.

I intend to publish the source code under GPL as soon as the code is fairly documented and ready for use in production. It would be nice to hear your experiences when using it.

Cheers,
./Eli

I'd love to comment, but not until there is something to try...

Sorry, I should have posted the link for the source code.

Thanks,

This looks very cool. I had tried sshfs in the past with marginal success, but now with MacFuse I'm using it all the time. I seem to remember there being a MediaWiki fs for use with fuse but now I can't find it. :-(

Hi anonymous,

Actually, you can get the source code at:

http://code.google.com/p/bloggerfs

The development is going at a slow pace, if you get interested it would be nice to receive contributions to the code. Please, let me know, if this is the case!

Currently, it is supporting only read-only operations.

Very nice!
I've been browsing for a few fuse file systems to implement with macfuse and this was not easy to find, which is strange and a disheartening at the same time. I had hoped there would be a lot more of these for google apps but obviously the developer group around this idea is still very small. I am not a software developer but I might give this a look through sometime and let you know how I get on.

Thanks for putting this as open source!

Hi
I'm a big fan of fuse and Java , and I was very disappointed to witness that suddenly (I think it was some when last year) the FUSE-J implementation (http://sourceforge.net/projects/fuse-j) stopped working on my Ubuntu.

It keep trigger stat event on the current folder in an endless loop.

Have you noticed that lately ?
